Messaging & chat uploads

When you use in-app chat, we process the messages and photos you send to deliver the messaging feature. Chat content is visible to the participants in that conversation. We may access or review messages and attachments when necessary to investigate reports, enforce our policies, maintain safety and security, or comply with legal obligations.

Notifications (email and future SMS)

We may send service-related notifications by email and, if enabled in the future and you opt in, by SMS/text message. Message and data rates may apply. You can manage notification preferences where available.

5) How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in limited situations:

A) With other users (marketplace visibility)

To make the marketplace work, some information you choose to share is visible to other users, such as:

  • Your display name (either your real name or your handle/username, depending on your settings).
  • Your listings and listing content (photos, descriptions, box metadata, and general location fields you include).
  • Messages and photos you send in in-app chat.

Email addresses are not displayed to other users.

B) With service providers (processors)

We may share information with vendors who help operate the Service (for example, website hosting, security services, and analytics providers like Google Analytics). These providers are permitted to process information only to perform services for us and under our instructions.

C) Payment processing (Stripe)

If you purchase paid features, payments are processed by Stripe (or another third-party payment processor we may use). Stripe processes payment information according to its own terms and privacy policy. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.

D) For safety, legal, and compliance reasons

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

  • Enforce our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.

D) Account deletion and data export

You can request account deletion or a data export by emailingsupport@findtheotherbox.comfrom the email address associated with your account.

To protect users, we may ask you to verify your identity before completing a request.

Note: We may retain certain information as required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Also, content you shared with others (such as messages) may not be fully removable from their records.

7) Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary to:
