About Find The Other Box

Hi, I'm Andy.

I'm the founder of FindTheOtherBox.com.

For the last 13 years, I've supported my family as a truck driver. Before that, I worked as a mechanic and a hi-lo driver. Over the last couple of years, I started looking for a way to step away from trucking and build something of my own.

One day, I happened to be driving past GRP Liquidation in Grand Rapids, MI. I'd always been curious about buying pallets and reselling the items, but it always seemed like a gamble. That day I decided to stop in and take a look—and I was hooked instantly.

My wife and I (along with our now 7-year-old son) had a blast downstacking pallets and discovering what we had. Then I'd price the items and list them on different sites. There's definitely a lot of work involved, but it's a great side hustle—and I quickly learned that many people do it full-time.

The Problem I Found

There was one struggle I found that pallet buyers had in common: the dreaded “Box 1 of 2.”

Half of a sofa. Part of a dresser. One box of a bed frame, shelving unit—you name it. It could be any one of hundreds of different items. And the question is always the same: where is the other box?

Was it on another pallet sold at that location? Was it shipped off to another state? Hard to say.

So what do you do? You bounce around online, searching social media groups, hoping for a stroke of luck—either the missing box shows up somewhere, or you post what you have and hope the person with the other half finds you.

And most of the time, these attempts don't work. That leads to lost profit and space being taken up by boxes that are basically worthless on their own. They stack up until you're forced to do something with them. If you're lucky, you might get pennies on the dollar. Most of the time, you end up giving them away (or throwing them away) with nothing to show for it except the hassle.

I kept thinking: why isn't there a website where you can actually search for the match?

What I Did About It

The answer was simple: because nobody had made one yet.

So I got to work, and FindTheOtherBox.com was born.

Now you can go online and do a real search that gets real results. Can't find a match? List your item and let our search function help the right person find you.

Successful matches lead to completed sets, cleared space, and increased profits.
